This yeast strain comes from the University of Weihenstephan in Munich. It is one of the most used strains in the world for the production of lager and lager beer (bottom yeast). This strain offers a very clean taste and flavour with a slight influence of fruity aromas. The sedimentation properties are very good.
The formation of esters and total higher alcohols is very low. The damping rate is 81-84%. Alcohol tolerance up to 10-11%
